Game Background |
So after today's class I immediately knew I had to take a break from Gone with the Wind and work with a nontraditional narrative text. Based off of today's discussion I decided to go with Sucker Punch Productions' inFAMOUS. After working with this, however I will be returning back to Gone with the Wind. | Infamous is an action-adventure and open world video game where the player controls Cole and primarily interacts with the world of Empire City through Cole's newly gained electricity-based powers used for better or worse in dealing with the citizens of Empire City, consisting of three islands: the Neon District, the Historic District, and the Warren. The game has a set story, but the player will encounter multiple times when they will have to chose between a 'good' or 'evil' karma path. Depending on the choice of the player, certain elements will change. |
Cole's Story

This event leads to certain people getting, Cole included, superpowers and becoming know as "conduits."
Gangs rise to power and to avoid dealing with the problem quarantine the whole city, saying terrorists launched biochemical weapons at the city. Cole has the option of using his powers for good or evil. When used for good Cole's powers are more precise and powerful, as opposed to when Cole uses his evil powers, which cause destruction and splash damage. Eventually it is revealed that Moya is a liar and Cole stops taking her advice. He gains a choice to activate or destitute the Ray Sphere, the item from the package that gave him the powers, again, but at the cost of more lives being destroyed for his personal gain. After that, Cole meets Kessler at the blast site, where Cole gained his powers.
